Daniels also stars as (fictional) playwright Joseph Harris, who won a Pulitzer Prize, an achievement he rarely lets anyone forget. Harris' success seems to have left him tormented and blocked, as he hasn't written anything "readable" in 20 years. a tidbit we learn from his agent (Erika Slezak, more than 2200 episodes of "One Life to Live. The two meet for "coffee" which is literary code for early drinking. a hobby Harris seems dedicated to during all waking hours.
That scene with Mr. Daniels and Ms. Slezak is one of the two best in the film - the other being near the end. The two long time collaborators wage a war of words - some offensively, others defensively - and the agent gives as good as she receives. When he claims to hate television, and proclaims "I'm a playwright" she counters with "You're a dinosaur." We learn much about the Joseph Harris character in this sequence. While it's easy to label him a burnout, we sense there is something deeper that has him dreading the trip from New York City to Michigan to fulfill a contractual obligation with a local theater group.
Once Harris arrives in small town Michigan, the vast majority of the rest of the film is shot inside the quaint train depot. a station that most of the passing trains don't even slow down for. Over-eager playwright-wannabe Kenneth Waters (played by newcomer Thomas Macias) is late to meet his hero, and for that, he is subjected to mounds of verbal abuse from Harris, who can barely maintain consciousness over inebriation. Despite his love for the bottom of bottles, Harris proves always capable of a vicious diatribe directed at easy target Kenneth. However, periodically mixed in with the poison, are some words of wisdom for the young man.
The bulk of the film is a competition between Harris and Kenneth. Can the young local theater apprentice convince the washed up legend to stay in town and fulfill his theatrical duty? Adding spice to the proceedings is the train master (played by Richard McWilliams) who not only wields a wicked baseball bat, but he also sees, hears, and judges everything that happens in his station.
As part of the ongoing negotiations, Harris agrees to read the first play Kenneth has written. The young man eagerly awaits the insightful feedback from his idol, but the moment becomes a lesson in worshipping heroes. they are just as human as us. Mr. Macias does manage to mostly hold his own in what easily could have been a one-man show, if not for Harris' need for someone at whom to direct his rants. We half expect Kenneth to mutter, I'm your number one fan! as he absorbs the insults and takes in the life lessons.
The backstory for this one is pretty interesting. Mr. Daniels admitted in an interview that he wrote the story based on actual events in the theater many years ago involving playwright Larnford Wilson, who might not view that as a compliment, were he still alive. This is also the first film under Grand River Productions, a joint venture of Mr. Daniels, Tim Busfield (who directs the film) and Mr. Busfield's wife, actress Melissa Gilbert ( Little House on the Prairie. It was shot mostly in Chelsea, Michigan where Mr. Daniels lives, and where he founded his Purple Rose Theater Company. And the homegrown aspect goes even deeper. Busfield's son Wilson Coates Busfield is the DP, while Daniels' son Ben did the composing.
It seems obvious that Daniels learned some lessons on structuring dialogue from his time on "The Newsroom" with Aaron Sorkin. We hear it in such lines as "I'm a playwright. I'm eternally serious" as well as the ongoing battle between hope and cynicism. Typing out the opening credits is a nice tough for a movie featuring a writer, but the "I'm not sorry" bits are overplayed. As mentioned previously, the two best sequences are that opening in NYC, and the scene outside the depot near the end, when Harris comes clean on what he's written and why - a scene that also includes the best and most heart-breaking line in the film. It may not be "The Great American Play" but there is plenty here to take in and think about. Sorry, not sorry.

Based on a novel INVISIBLE LIFE offers a very typical plot for Brazilian cinema. Sisters separated by fate is a tagline straight from GLOBO tv channel soap operas that are so popular in Brazil. With a running time of 2h20min the pace is rather slow and the story takes its time to get going. Where the film succeeds is the atmosphere of the 40s Rio, with its walkways, restaurants, and its diminishing Portuguese middle class that can easily slip into extreme hardship and poverty.
Independent director Karim Ainouz is a Cannes darling but has never quite made it into the big league. This feels like a passion project for him and his love for Rio is obvious in every shot. Definitely not for everyone THE INVISIBLE LIFE is rich in emotion and atmosphere. Watch out for a small role from Brazilian acting royalty Fernando Montenegro. Como se camina en la vida

Lima, Capital del Perú, una ciudad fundada en un desierto debido a que los colonizadores llegaron en verano, ¿seria mejor que se hubiera fundado en otro lado?, Arequipa es lo primero que a muchos se le ocurriría, pero qué bueno que no fue ahí, el norte hubiera sido mas cálido, finalmente la selva hubiera sida paradisiaco de haberse fundado ahí. Estando en la ubicación que estamos debo decir que Lima es Hermosa, es turística es bella y deprimente muchas veces.

Moverse en la ciudad en auto "Insufrible", no sé cómo se sienten las personas después de perder su vida en el trafico, el maltrato del cobrador y el chofer que por un lado maneja a la ofensiva tratando de capturar la mayor cantidad de presas (pasajeros) y el cobrador empujando a las presas a que avancen al fondo y puedan entran mas victimas, paguen con sencillo y bajen con el pie derecho, tal vez lo divertido es que como no hay tiempo de irse al parque de diversiones o los juegos mecánicos, subimos a la Combi TAGADA o la Combi Rusa…, pues ahora la llamo  Combi Survivor (aunque al final del camino a nadie le darán un millón de dólares pero se la juegan toda para llegar hasta su paradero).

Es inhumano viajar todos los días perdiendo el tiempo que podemos dedicar a la familia, a los amigos, estudiando o a Ganar más dinero. Veámoslo desde un punto de vista divertido, Si tu trabajo o centro de estudios esta a una hora de viaje de tu casa, podemos concluir en que perderás 2 horas cada días, si además tienes que esperar a que venga el bendito móvil, este relativamente con espacio para que puedas subir a bordo, podrían pasar 30 minutos mas lo cual equivale a 3 horas diarias perdidas, al año pierdes 32 días (solo en 2 horas x 5 días X 52 semanas), EL problema de la movilidad es  preocupante, muchas cosas se pudieron lograr en ese mes perdido. Lo que me recuerdo que un amigo estudiaba a 2 horas de su casa en carro. Vivía en SJM y estudiaba en san marcos, sin tomar en cuenta los sábados o domingos el perdió 1 año de su vida en una combi, hagamos números:

4 horas X 5dias X 52 semanas = 1040 =tiempo perdido en un año, si aumentamos que hay hora punta y a veces tenemos que hacer mas viajes podemos aumentar 30 minutos extras = 1170 horas casi 49 días perdidos al año (todos días útiles de lunes a viernes) 49 x5 años de carrera = 245dias. Pero uno no está activo 24 horas. Sino 16 del día. Si hacemos ese cálculo 1170/16 casi 74 días al año X5 = 365 días y un poquito mas.

No sé qué tan divertido es pensar que alguien puede perder 1 año cada 5 de su vida, Tiempo en que mucho se puede hacer. El viajar en la ciudad es caótico y mas si rompen las pistas y las veredas para hacer una carretera en medio de las ciudades o distritos, perdemos mas tiempo esperando. Hacer que los vehículos motorizados vayan cada vez mas rápidos ¿esto acaso es la solución?, ¿perder veredas por ganar una pista mas ancha es justo para los que vivimos en la ciudad?. ¿Lograr que entren mas autos en una avenida o calle es seguro y sano para la ciudad? pero que lindo es que te pongan una pista nueva "yeee botare por el que me parcho la pista e hizo una obra vistosa antes de que acabe su mandato para que no me olvide de él a la hora de ir a las urnas"... qué gran silencio hay cuando uno hace su VOTO, no reflejamos en ellos nuestra conciencia moral, social o espiritual, y se termina votando engañado por una encuesta, un plan falso de gobierno o simplemente por una promesa que escuchamos a medias bajo la esperanza que una sola persona nos soluciones todos nuestros problemas, yo sé que eso no sucederá en Perú nunca, y mi fastidio no lo comparto con nadie, tomo en cambio acciones para despertar conciencia y hacer ver dónde está el norte.

El norte está donde no están las autoridades, donde los políticos con intereses creados solo buscan su provecho y no su don de servicio, donde el populismo es vomitado y donde la trasparencia de un País unido aguarda.

Muertos día a día en las pistas, familias enlutadas y amigos lisiados son el resultado de todo ello, ni la guerra con el terrorismo ha sido tan impactante en la vida de los peruanos. Soluciones tan simples como la convergencia de nuevos medios de transporte con lo ya existentes pueden aplacar esta problema.

Problema 1°- Accidentes de tránsito. Se resuelve cambiando el tipo y ordenamiento del transporte con una nueva política de movilización incluyendo y creando facilidades para los vehículos de transporte masivo, la integración de las bicicletas, y otro medios (patines, sk8, etc)

Problema 2°-Contaminación atmosférica. Se resuelve sacando de las calles a las unidades antiguas que además de dar un mal servicio generar el caos por desperfectos continuos, mayor emanación de gases de efecto invernadero y ruido en la ciudad.

Problema 3°- impacto en la Salud. seamos realista la contaminación en lima o Perú no contribuye grandemente en el ambiente (pero ciudades mas desarrolladas viene bajando sus estándares de encamación de gases y el Perú se está elevando y eso si es preocupante) pero la salud es desmedrada día a día, podemos decir que los problemas e infecciones respiratorias se están haciendo sostenibles...ósea que podemos tener la seguridad que a nuestro actual ritmo seguiremos sufriendo muchos años de este, y que se está haciendo lo que mas les conviene a los que toman decisiones, velar por las consecuencias y no atacar el problema "Hospitales yeee necesitamos mas porque cada vez hay mas enfermos", agua para todos mientras lleno la piscina, riego mis plantas, dejo el grifo abierto mientras me aseo por qué no me cuesta tan caro como los de AAHH que pagan 10veces mas que yo por un agua que deben hervir para usarla.

Problema 4°- Educación. Resulta que el sistema está hecho para que aprendas lo necesario para que puedas ser respetuoso con tu empleador y seas medianamente eficiente para una entrevista y desempeño laboral. Esto es lo más claro que vemos en nuestra sociedad de la cual estoy incluido, agradezco haber tenido un bichito de ser libre y no dejar que me encajonen para darme cuenta que fuera de esa caja existe un Perú grandioso y aprendí a disfrutarlo y luchar por él.

Concluyo estas problemáticas no planteándolas simplemente sino dar una solución simple.

solución 1°- El subir las multas ayuda peor no soluciona, la educación vial no se le debe enseñar solo a los conductores el publico objetivo son además de los usuarios (ósea nosotros) son nuestros gobiernos, ellos deben saber que la convergencia de medios es la solución, alguien realmente creo que el metropolitano es la gran solución de esto, Castañeda habla (las pocas veces que las hace) dice tendremos el sistema de transporte mas modernos a la par de los mas modernos del mundo GRAN MENTIRA, los medios de trasporte no son solo  modernos por poner gas o los vehículos y que estos tengas un camino bonita y largo, ponerle electricidad a un tren tampoco, es la CONVERGENCIA DE  MEDIOS, ósea que todos servir a la vez, en paralelo, continuo y barato.

Si deseo ir a metro o al tren eléctrico tendré que tomar un taxi (caro) y luego de usar el metro o el tren usar otra vez el taxi. Los medios modernos permiten, hacer uso de Bicicletas y vehículos similares incluyéndolos en el medio, además de seguridad y respeto a esto sin que esto genere un mayor trámite económico por el contrario ayudar a que el transporte sea más fácil y económico.

Solución 2°- Miles de buenas prácticas se nos están ofreciendo con propagandas distintas creativas, pero debemos de mejorar nuestros consumos, dejar por costumbre que se pierdan recursos como electricidad, gasolina, agua, residuos sólidos, etc. no usar un medio contaminante de no ser necesario, todo dentro de 6km de distancia es mas rápido, divertido, oxigenante y amigable usar una bicicleta.

Solución 3°- Basta ya de pagar los platos rotos la gente de menor recursos, los inocentes como los niños. No manejan vehículos contaminantes, no hacen procesos que generen algún tipo de movimiento o mala práctica, pero si son víctimas de todos (incluyendo lo necesario para su satisfacer sus necesidades).

Solución 4° Si espero que cambien todo el sistema moriré viendo el tiempo pasar. Es mejor Ver nuestra historia seguir los ejemplos de los que lucharon por una necesidad, por la libertad por el desarrollo. Y lleguemos a el poder que tome la decisión. Se me ocurre que llegara el elegido al poder y lograra facilitar las cosas, pero el cambio lo hacen las personas unidas no la autoridad elegida.

Después de todo este rollo que no tiene afanes políticos sino el fastidio por la desidia de las autoridades viendo cómo se va a la mierda. Espero que se despierten mas conciencia y nos enteremos de cómo ayudar a nuestra ciudad y comencemos a tomar las acciones para ellos.

HOLA y Bienvenido

Joven aun y por siempre, escapando de las cosas que no me beneficiaran y ayudando a los que de alguna manera lo necesitan. Disfrutando los escenarios en los que me encuentro y la belleza de la naturaleza.
Montar bicicleta, escuchar y tocar una buena guitarra, respirar mientras vez las estrellas o beber un poco de agua helada, son de las cosas que más fortalecen cuando me veo tan pequeño en este gran mundo pero, el más dichoso por seguir viviendo.

Muchas veces la gente se pregunta qué hacer o como hacerlo, buscando respuestas en otras personas...tratando de entender por qué no nacieron en otro lugar o por qué no tuvieron tal o cual oportunidad, yo me he hecho la misma pregunta y termino viajando a algún lugar con mis amigos y mi bici (inseparable) y al ver lugares en los que pocas personas han estado o el disfrutar estar fuera de toda esa telaraña de la tecnología, bullicio de la ciudad y las súper noticias que solo hablar de muertos cada día...me encontró Feliz por seguir solo mis deseos de explorar.

Ya he andado mucho tengo 31 años y dicen que no parezco tenerlos (25 tal vez sería mas exacto) pero la verdad es que ya pase los 30 hace 1 año, me case hace 4 días por civil y no vivo con mi actual esposa, es mas no la veo desde que nos casamos ja, me resulta gracioso escribirlo pero mi deseo de estar con ella son muy fuertes pero mientras no esté casado por religioso no haremos vida en común. Se pensara que es anticuado pero la verdad que no lo es, tal vez es un poco romántico el haber llevado una relación amorosa sin la necesidad de haber tenido sexo. Lo gratificante de esto es que se que esta relación se basa en el AMOR y la dedicación del uno al otro y al final de todo eso es lo que debe perdurar, no siempre podremos tener la vitalidad de poder complacer sexualmente a tu pareja pero si podremos tener la seguridad de que podemos dedicarle nuestros días a ese amor de siempre.

No quisiera seguir escribiendo sin antes tocar el hecho de que no soy casto y puro, de hecho he tenido muchas relaciones desde mis 16 años y he podido gozar de los diversos placeres heterosexuales, los improvisados, los trabajados y las situaciones en que uno se viste de cordero siendo lobo para salir sin complicaciones. A veces recordando eso dan ganas de marcar el celular de alguna de ellas y terminar satisfaciendo una necesidad...pero esta terminara siendo de un valor pasajero y por lo tanto sigo pensando en mi actual esposa y el día que estará conmigo después de casarnos por la iglesia, de tenerla a mi lado y verla cuando se duerma y se despierte, tener que pensar en cómo sorprenderla todos los días solo para hacerla reír de felicidad o dibujar en su rostro tan solo una sonrisa.

Si creo en Dios y desde pequeño y sé que muchas personas también pero a su manera... no tengo que opinar a favor o encontrar de las religiones, solo me dedico a seguir mis creencias y si alguien me lo pide dar un poco de ánimo y ayuda según se me permita. Este mundo es tan bello que solo él es la explicación de todo lo que ocurre en ella, los terremotos estos últimos meses, y las vidas perecidas también tienes un sentido, si uno se saca la lotería y debes hacer un viaje para aprovecharlo ¿no lo harías? eso es lo que entiendo, miles de personas ya están disfrutando de grandes riquezas y a nosotros nos queda seguir trabajando para seguir adelante.

Ahora me encuentro desempleado (ósea sin trabajo formal) pero debido a  diversas habilidades conseguidas en la teoría de la educación superior y sobre todo en la práctica vengo diseñando estructuras, armando una que otra cosa por ahí y esperando hasta que se me conceda el trabajo que necesito para realizar mis planes futuros.
